CMSC Prerequisites, 100- and 200-level courses

Note that catalog prerequisites are plain English descriptions and freely include qualitative descriptions like "mathematical maturity." Registrar prerequisites, on the other hand, are concrete and are those that can be checked by the registrar's automated system. (This is limited not only by the concreteness of the requirements, but also whether or not they happen to be tracked by the registrar.) That said, the two kinds of prerequisites, while they may not be identical, must never be in conflict with one another.

In the "registrar prerequisites" column, items marked with an asterisk are in-progress prerequisites, meaning that a student may be in the process of taking that course simultaneously with registering for the course that requires it.
